Sad! WAEC Student Allegedly Shot Dead By Policeman In Ibadan, Viral Clip Trends

According to reports, a student was being led by his father to the WAEC exam centre when he tragically died after being struck by a stray bullet during a police pursuit.

An eyewitness said that the student was hit by a stray bullet inside his father’s car while the police were chasing suspected online fraudsters, or “yahoo boys,” along Old Ife Road, according to a message shared on X (previously Twitter).

The witness initially expressed hope for the boy’s survival, writing:

“Police just shot someone at Old Ife Road just now. They said they were chasing yahoo boys and a stray bullet hit a child in his dad’s car on the way to school to write WAEC. I hope the kid survives… Why would you shoot in the first place?”

In a heartbreaking update, he later confirmed:

“The boy died.”

Eyewitnesses report that the police was trying to shoot a vehicle they were chasing and an innocent school student was hit by a stray bullet from the police inside his dad’s car. The school student was rushed to Welfare Hospital, but was declared BID.
