Farooq Oreagba reclaims crown as Ojude Oba’s style king, stealing the spotlight once again
Farooq Oreagba, the cancer survivor who stole the show at the 2024 Ojude Oba Festival, is back and still holding his crown as the festival’s style king.
Just like last year, he turned heads the moment he arrived. Confident, calm, and full of swag, Oreagba brought the same energy that made him a viral sensation and social media favourite.
In 2024, he captured hearts when he showed up on a beautifully decorated horse, wearing a bold green and lemon agbada. He completed the look with coral beads, a gold crossbody chain, designer sunglasses, an Apple Watch, and a cigar resting between his lips. His tattoos peeked out from his sleeves, adding to his unique blend of elegance and edge. It was more than fashion, it was a statement. That moment made him “The Man of the Day” and the unofficial face of Ojude Oba.

This year, he showed up just as strong. Still on horseback, Oreagba wore another standout outfit that spoke of confidence, culture, and pride. Fans on social media didn’t hold back. Many called him “King of Steeze,” praising his ability to carry tradition with a modern twist.
But Farooq Oreagba is more than just a style icon. Born in July 1966 in Ijebu-Ode, he has walked through fire and come out shining. In 2014, he was diagnosed with bone and skin cancer. By 2015, he was in full remission, and in 2017, he was officially declared cancer-free. His story is one of strength, grace, and survival.
The National Council for Arts and Culture named him an Honorary Cultural Ambassador, recognising how he has helped showcase Nigerian culture in a bold and positive way. While presenting the certificate, NCAC Director-General Obi Asika described him as “a true Nigerian original.”
