JAMB fixes June 28 date for UTME mop-up exam
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up examination will hold on Saturday, June 28,
Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s public communications advisor, made this known in a statement on Sunday when he asked candidates who missed the 2025 UTME to start printing their registration slips from Monday, June 23.
The board explained that the first session for the examination day starts at 8 a.m.
“Candidates for the 8:00 a.m. session are therefore advised in their interest to arrive one hour or one and a half hours before the actual commencement of the examination,” the statement reads.
Recall that JAMB had earlier announced it would conduct a mop-up for candidates who missed the UTME in April and rescheduled the UTME in May.

According to the JAMB report, over two million candidates registered for the 2025 UTME, and more than 1.9 million of the registered candidates sat the examination, held from Thursday, April 24, to Monday, May 5.
Additionally, JAMB rescheduled the UTME for over 300,000 candidates in May after the board confirmed that technical glitches had affected candidates’ results in some centres, particularly in the South-East region and Lagos State.
The glitch affected candidates in 65 computer-based test (CBT) centres in Lagos State and 92 centres across Anambra, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, and Enugu States.
The board confirmed the technical glitches following national outcry over the low scores at the UTME by candidates.
Ishaq Oloyede, the chief executive officer and registrar at JAMB, admitted the errors, apologised to the candidates and announced the rescheduling of the UTME for affected candidates.
The rescheduled examination was held from Friday, May 16, to Monday, May 19, 2025.
