President Federation Cup: We Won’t Take It Lightly With Rivers Angels -Nasarawa Amazons Captain
Nasarawa Amazons captain Josephine Mathias has said she and her teammates will make things difficult for Rivers Angels in the President Federation Cup.
On Saturday, June 28, the women’s final of this year’s President Federation Cup will take place inside the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
Nasarawa Amazons will be up against defending champions and most successful side (nine President Federation Cup titles) Rivers Angels.
The last time Nasarawa Amazons won the Cup was in 2019, which was their second title.
Ahead of Saturday’s fixture, Mathias predicted a difficult final.
“It’s not going to be an easy game for us because we have played them in the Super Six and we won,” Mathias said in an interview posted on Nasarawa Amazons X handle.
“But this time around it’s a different ball game, so we are not going to take it lightly with them and I know it’s going to be a tough game for us and for them too.”
She added:”As the captain I motivate my players, talk to them and they are ready for the match and we are here to give 100 per cent and see what God will do because it’s only God that have the final say but we will do our best.”
Meanwhile, the men’s final will be between Kwara United and giant killers Abakaliki FC.
