Tobi Amusan wins 100m hurdles at Ostrava Golden Spike meet
Nigeria’s 100m hurdler and world record holder, Tobi Amusan, secured a decisive victory in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Ostrava Golden Spike meet in Czech Republic.
Amusan clocked a season-best time of 12.45 seconds, comfortably ahead of her rivals, making a strong statement as she builds momentum this season.
Amusan, the reigning African and Commonwealth champion, showcased her explosive speed and flawless technique, leaving the competition trailing.
Her winning time of 12.45 seconds not only positions her among the fastest hurdlers globally this season but also sends a clear message to her rivals ahead of major competitions.
Slovakia’s Viktória Forster finished second with a time of 12.74 seconds, narrowly edging out Ireland’s Sarah Lavin, who secured third place at 12.76 seconds. Both Forster and Lavin also posted their season-best times in the process, highlighting the competitive nature of the race.
Lavin, from Limerick, notably shaved more than a tenth of a second off her previous best of 12.90, continuing her gradual climb through the European outdoor season.
